Zizo Stays as Al Ahly Edge Closer to Signing Benjdida

Egyptian giants Al Ahly have put a stop to swirling rumors about the possible departure of their star Ahmed Sayed "Zezo" during the current summer transfer window.

Al Ahly have firmly dismissed reports linking Ahmed Sayed "Zizo" with a summer departure, reaffirming the Egyptian international's importance to the club while stepping up their pursuit of Moroccan striker Sofiane Benjdida.

According to an Al Ahly source quoted by FilGoal, the club has no plans to part ways with Zizo, either on loan or through a permanent transfer. The source emphasized that the 30-year-old remains a key figure in the squad and enjoys the full confidence of the coaching staff ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Benjdida Deal Nears Completion

At the same time, Al Ahly are making significant progress in their efforts to bolster the attacking department. The Egyptian giants have already secured the signature of Sofiane Benjdida and are now in the final stages of negotiations with Maghreb de Fès to complete the transfer.

The Moroccan forward attracted strong interest after an outstanding campaign in the Botola Pro, where he scored 20 goals and provided two assists in 31 appearances. His impressive performances also earned him the league's Golden Boot.
