At the final whistle of this first major clash of the 2026 World Cup between Brazil and Morocco, Achraf Hakimi opened up.

Morocco managed to hold Brazil to a 1-1 draw on Sunday night in the group stage of the 2026 World Cup. Atlas Lions captain Achraf Hakimi is pleased with Morocco's start to this World Cup campaign.

"It wasn't easy. We played against a top-tier team, one of the favorites. It's a draw, but we played a great match. We need to improve with every game. We must keep going, we put in a good performance. We have to learn from the negatives, but keep building on the positives. We still have two matches left, and that's the most important thing," the right-back told beIN Sports.

Morocco will face Scotland on matchday two, in the early hours from Friday to Saturday.
