AC Milan are genuinely interested in signing Noussair Mazraoui

Press reports have revealed that Moroccan defender, full-back Noussair Mazraoui, is receiving great interest from Italian giants AC Milan, and Manchester United is well aware of this great interest in their player.

It was a night to forget for Manchester United. Two defensive breakdowns proved costly, and the hosts made them pay with a clinical 2-0 victory. Despite coming off a solid run at the 2026 World Cup, Noussair Mazraoui looked a step off the pace against the Tigers, struggling to impose himself the way he usually does.

That remains very much an open question. The 28-year-old's versatility—being equally comfortable on either flank—makes him a valuable piece for United, and it's precisely that quality that has caught the attention of potential suitors. Whether that interest translates into a move, though, is still far from certain.

Mazraoui makes a strong appearance with Manchester United

The outstanding performances the Moroccan has delivered since his arrival from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2014 have made him an irreplaceable player in Manchester United's squad. He was a key player under manager Erik ten Hag upon his arrival, and subsequently became a regular starter under manager Ruben Amorim.

This means the player can be a fundamental part of any tactical system or coaching structure, and this is precisely what AC Milan seems to be looking for to strengthen their midfield.

Over the course of the Portuguese manager's 14-month stint at Old Trafford, Mazraoui was a regular fixture in the starting eleven, clocking up 49 appearances across all competitions. When Michael Carrick took over the reins the following January, the former Ajax academy product remained just as integral to the setup, featuring in 12 of the 17 matches overseen by the interim boss—a clear sign of the trust placed in him, regardless of who was in the dugout.
