Former French international defender Adil Rami hasn't held back in his criticism of Lamine Yamal, Barcelona’s young sensation, whose lifestyle is increasingly becoming a hot topic.

While the football world regularly applauds the Spanish winger’s talent and precociousness, some are starting to question his behavior off the pitch. His recent, extravagantly lavish birthday party has reignited criticism—most notably from Rami, now 39 years old.

Speaking to Instant Foot via beIN SPORTS, the former Marseille and AC Milan player didn’t mince his words:

As a footballer, there’s nothing to say: he’s a beast, he’ll win Ballon d’Ors, Euros... But as a person, I can’t stand him anymore. He throws parties, he wears the number 10, massive diamonds... He thinks he’s an American superstar. It’s ridiculous. His look, his sagging shorts... That comes from prison culture. He thinks he’s cool, but it annoys me.

These harsh words reignite the debate about media pressure and the behavior of young global football stars.
