AFC Champions League: Franck Kessié scores, Al-Ahli advance to the semifinals
Al-Ahli have booked their spot in the AFC Champions League semifinals. The Saudi club knocked out Johor Darul Ta'zim 2-1 in the quarterfinals thanks to a goal from Ivorian star Franck Kessié.
Al-Ahli fell behind after just 19 minutes and were reduced to ten men in the 37th minute. In that crucial moment, Franck Kessié unleashed a stunning strike (45+3) to level the score at 1-1. The former Barcelona and Milan midfielder put his team back on track. After the break, Wanderson Galeno fired home the winning goal.
Franck Kessié now has three goals in this AFC Champions League campaign. The Elephants’ captain continues to lead his side in their quest for back-to-back titles in the competition.
