Afcon 2032: After expressing interest, what's the next step for the AES countries?

After the declaration of interest approved by CAF, the Sahelian trio steps right into the heart of the matter. Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger are now preparing their official bid dossier to host the 2032 Africa Cup of Nations.

In its statement, the Nigerien Football Federation clarified that this new phase will be carried out "in coordination with the authorities and federations of Burkina Faso and Mali." The goal: to submit a robust proposal that meets CAF’s requirements.

The first step was to declare their ambition. That milestone has now been passed. CAF has confirmed it has received and already approved the joint declaration of interest from the three AES nations. Now comes the technical phase: infrastructure, government guarantees, security plans, budget, and all the other details that the three federations must outline in their joint bid to convince African football's governing body.

This is a huge logistical and political challenge—but above all, it stands as a powerful symbol of regional unity for Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.
