Morocco's history in the Africa Cup of Nations final is a rare but significant tale with the continent's ultimate stage. Over nearly seven decades of participation, the Atlas Lions have reached this pinnacle just three times, each instance marked by unique circumstances, blending immense hope and prolonged expectation.

The first final remains a founding moment. In 1976, in Ethiopia, AFCON adopted a new final group format. Morocco proved to be the most consistent side, clinching their title by finishing atop this mini-league, notably thanks to a decisive draw against Guinea (1-1). That triumph remains, to this day, Morocco's only continental star but stands as a historic milestone for several generations.

The second final, in 2004 in Mali, left a sense of unfinished business. After an impressive run, Morocco fell to hosts Tunisia (2-1) in a hotly contested match. Fifty years after 1976, the Atlas Lions now return to the AFCON 2025 final, fully intent on rewriting history.
