According to reliable sources, Iranian club Esteghlal Tehran is on the verge of finalizing an official deal with Cameroonian international striker Vincent Aboubakar, aiming to strengthen their squad during the summer transfer window.

Negotiations, which began only a few weeks ago, have wrapped up in the last few hours, satisfying all parties involved, despite interest from Persepolis and Wydad in the player.

This signing comes after a mixed season with Hatayspor in Turkey, where Aboubakar scored 7 goals and provided 2 assists in 25 matches. The striker remains a key player, capable of turning the tide of any match.

Currently, the former Al-Nassr player from Saudi Arabia is taking part in the "Indomitable Lions" training camp for crucial qualifiers against Eswatini (September 4) and Cape Verde (September 9), as part of matchdays 7 and 8 of the 2026 African World Cup qualifiers, group D.
