Ajax officially sign Yves Bissouma
Yves Bissouma has found a new home. After leaving Tottenham at the end of last season and spending several months without a club, the Mali international has officially joined Ajax. The Dutch club announced the signing of the midfielder, who is now under contract in Amsterdam until June 30, 2027.
Valuable experience in England
Yves Bissouma joined Tottenham in the summer of 2022 from Brighton. During his time with Spurs, the Malian made 111 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals.
Before moving to London, he had established himself as a respected midfielder in the Premier League with Brighton. His top-level experience is now one of his main assets for Ajax. With Mali, Bissouma has also earned 46 caps and scored five goals. His versatility allows him to play in several midfield positions.
Ajax strengthen their midfield
Technical director Jordi Cruyff welcomed the arrival. The Dutch executive notably highlighted the player's experience and his ability to play in several positions.
Bissouma joins a team currently fourth in the Eredivisie with 13 points after six rounds, three points behind leaders PSV Eindhoven. After several months without an official match, his main challenge will now be to quickly regain his rhythm and integrate into his new club's setup.
