Azzedine Ounahi wants to stay at Panathinaikos
Azzedine Ounahi is thriving in Greece. On loan from Olympique de Marseille, the Moroccan midfielder has shone this season in the Panathinaikos jersey.
At 25, he seems to have fully rediscovered his form. In 36 matches, he has netted 5 goals and provided 7 assists—solid numbers by any standard. After the clash against AEK Athens, Azzedine Ounahi spoke about his future. He isn’t ruling out a longer stay in Greece:
I’m happy here. I’ve helped the team, and I’ve truly enjoyed playing football. I’ve had discussions with the club. We’ll need to see what their project is. I’m open to staying, but the decision will also be up to Marseille.
Panathinaikos would certainly love to keep him. The player himself is open about his attachment. Everything will depend on talks between all three parties. Could OM let him leave permanently? We’ll have the answer soon.
