Brazil: Ancelotti deeply affected after World Cup 2026 elimination

While he was assistant coach of Brazil during the 2026 World Cup, Davide Ancelotti was supporting his father, Carlo.

In an interview published by L'Equipe on Saturday, Lille's new head coach said he was devastated by the defeat to Norway (1-2), which knocked them out in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

"Being knocked out of the World Cup was the biggest disappointment of my career because it was probably the last tournament together with my father, and in Brazil, the World Cup is life itself. But coming here right after really helped me, I've moved on," said the Italian coach.
