The Tanzanian giants delivered. Young Africans SC beat Gaborone United 2-1 to qualify for the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

Following a 1-1 draw in the first leg, Yanga progressed 3-2 on aggregate and keep their dream of reaching the group stage alive.

Shalulile and Toure get the job done

At home, Yanga wasted no time. Peter Shalulile opened the scoring in the 7th minute to settle the game. Then Ckeik Toure scored the second goal in the 84th minute to give them some breathing space.

The Botswanans salvaged some pride in added time. Lebogang Ditsele pulled one back in the 87th minute. The final score was 2–1.

Yanga head to Madagascar

Aziz Ki and his team-mates having done the job at home, Young Africans SC are already looking ahead to their next challenge. In the second preliminary round, Yanga will face CFFA of Madagascar. The winner of this two-legged tie will secure a place in the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
