Shockwave at the heart of the Confederation of African Football: Véron Mosengo-Omba has officially announced his resignation from the post of secretary general.

In his statement dated March 29, 2026, the executive mentions the end of a professional cycle and his desire to focus on personal projects. He thanks CAF President Patrice Motsepe as well as the administrative teams for the work accomplished during his tenure.

His time at the helm of CAF’s administration was regularly subjected to criticism, amid sharp disagreements between federations and ongoing debates about the governance of African football.
