Cameroon - Elite One (Matchday 12): Unisport crowned first-half champions, Colombe stumbles again

The 12th matchday of the Cameroonian championship delivered its verdict this weekend. At the end of this round, Unisport du Haut-Nkam has been officially crowned champions of the first half of the season—an unexpected achievement that confirms the rise of this club from the West.

It's now official: Unisport du Haut-Nkam can no longer be caught at the top of the standings at the end of the first leg. The league leaders cemented their status by defeating their main rivals, Coton Sport, in a high-stakes showdown (1-0). This crucial victory allows them to widen the gap and reach 26 points.

With a five-point lead over both Coton Sport and Gazelle FA (21 points each), the "Flambeau de l’Ouest" is enjoying a remarkable first half of the campaign. Quiet starters, the club now stands out as a serious title contender, eyeing its first crown since 1996.

Colombe Sportive slips again and raises concerns

Defending champions Colombe Sportive du Sud continue their inconsistent run. After a (0-1) defeat to Aigle de la Menoua, the "Bird of the South" suffers another setback.

Weakened by several absences and suspensions, the team is struggling to find its rhythm. Brice Sindjo's missed penalty perfectly symbolizes the club's current difficulties as they lose their bearings. Up against an opportunistic Menoua side, Colombe drops precious points and falls further behind in the title race.

Fauve Azur resurfaces, Panthère stalls again

In the Centre derby, Fauve Azur pulled off a brilliant result by defeating AS Fortuna (1-0).
Thanks to a decisive goal from Junior Bembong, the Fayas Boys picked up three crucial points and climbed out of the relegation zone.

In contrast, Panthère du Ndé continues to struggle. Held to a (1-1) draw by Aigle Royal du Moungo, the Ndé side is now four matches without a win.
Despite Mbarga opening the scoring, they were pegged back late in the match, letting two points slip away against the league's bottom side.

Gazelle strikes hard, Dynamo and Victoria held

Gazelle FA pulled off a statement win by beating Canon Sportif (2-1) away from home. This important victory keeps them firmly in the top three.

Elsewhere, Dynamo de Douala snatched a draw (2-2) against PWD after coming back from 2-0 down. Victoria United were also held to a (2-2) draw by Stade Renard, who have been struggling since the start of the season.
