Things are going from bad to worse for Chelsea on the disciplinary front. In just nine matches, the London club has already received six red cards.

On Wednesday, during the League Cup clash against Wolverhampton, Liam Delap was sent off after receiving two yellow cards. Remarkably, he had just returned from injury. Before him, other players like Malo Gusto, João Pedro, Trevoh Chalobah, and Robert Sánchez had already been dismissed. Even coach Enzo Maresca was penalized for what was deemed an excessive celebration.

Chelsea boasts a very young squad. Captain Reece James believes these mistakes mainly stem from a lack of experience. Maresca will have to address this issue quickly, as playing a man down so often makes matches far more challenging for the Blues.
