FC Barcelona 7-2 Racing Santander: with Raphinha hat-trick, the Catalan juggernaut rolls on!
FC Barcelona thrashed Racing Santander (7-2), with a brilliant Raphinha scoring a hat-trick.
FC Barcelona continue to dominate La Liga. On matchday six, Hansi Flick’s men comfortably defeated Racing Santander (7-2) at Spotify Camp Nou. João Cancelo opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a powerful strike, before Raphinha converted a penalty in the 25th. Maguette Gueye briefly brought the visitors back into the game five minutes later, but Barça immediately regained control.
Raphinha completes his hat-trick
João Cancelo played a part in Barcelona’s third goal in the 36th minute, with his shot taking a deflection off Asier Villalibre, before Raphinha scored his second in the 42nd. Barça could even have gone into the break with an even bigger lead, but Lamine Yamal missed a penalty just before half-time.
Yassir Zabiri took advantage of a Szczesny error to reduce the deficit to 4-2 in the 65th minute. Barcelona responded immediately: Raphinha converted another penalty two minutes later to complete his hat-trick. Substitute Gabriel Jesus then scored the sixth goal, before Lamine Yamal put the finishing touch on the rout late in the game.
Barça remain untouchable
With six wins from six matches, Barça maintain their perfect record and strengthen their position at the top of the table. The Catalans are above all confirming their attacking power, just days after their 4-2 victory at Levante and their 5-1 rout of Feyenoord in the Champions League. Their next fixture will come soon: Barcelona will travel to face Sevilla FC on September 19.
