Courted by several Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, Iliman Ndiaye has made his choice. The Senegalese forward has signed a five-year contract with Manchester City, running through 2031, for an estimated 75 million euros, including bonuses.

“It had to be City”

In an interview with BBC Sport, Iliman Ndiaye explains the reasons behind his decision. “I simply exercised patience, and when the opportunity to join City arose, I was over the moon. It had to be City. I wanted to compete in the Champions League and play for one of the best teams in the world. I’m not saying Tottenham isn’t one of them, but when Manchester City comes calling, you don’t say no,” he said.

A New Challenge After Everton

After joining Everton in 2024 from Olympique de Marseille, Ndiaye played in 65 Premier League matches and established himself as a key offensive player, scoring 15 goals. A Senegalese international with 43 caps and 5 goals, he made his debut this weekend with City against Coventry City in a 1-0 victory.

The next step could be the Champions League. City faces Porto this Tuesday, and the African champion could make his debut in the team’s dream lineup.
