Jean-Philippe Gbamin set to sign with FC Metz
Jean-Philippe Gbamin

Ivorian international Jean-Philippe Gbamin is about to join FC Metz.

After securing Yannis Lawson and Giorgi Tsitaishvili, Frederic Arpinon has approved another significant signing. This time, it's Jean-Philippe Gbamin. The Ivorian player, who successfully passed his medical examination, is set to wear the Garnets' jersey this season.

The strong Ivorian centre-back, who is also capable of playing as a defensive midfielder, is coming off a solid spell in Zurich, Switzerland, where he rediscovered his form and cemented his place as a regular starter (16 matches – 1 goal from February to May). This resurgence propelled him back into the national team, earning three starts in the last four matches for the Ivory Coast Elephants.

This is a great addition for FC Metz, who are bringing in an experienced player.
