Mastering the Tactics: Why Sergio Busquets chose Barça Atlètic for his touchline debut
Club legend Sergio Busquets has made an emotional return to FC Barcelona, officially joining the coaching staff of reserve side Barça Atlètic as an assistant coach under manager Juliano Belletti.

A coaching apprenticeship alongside Belletti
Busquets 38 will serve as technical assistant to his former Barcelona teammate Juliano Belletti who currently leads the reserve team in the Spanish fourth tier.
The appointment coincides with Busquets undertaking formal coaching courses to obtain his official UEFA coaching licenses. The move also marks a reunion between the two figures who previously shared the dressing room as first team players at the Camp Nou during the late 2000s.
Busquets returns to the club where he spent the vast majority of his career having originally joined the youth system in 2005 before cementing his place as one of the finest defensive midfielders in football history.
A decorated legacy at the Camp Nou & beyond
During his senior spell with Barcelona between 2008 and 2023, Busquets amassed 722 competitive appearances for the first team contributing 18 goal and 46 assist.
His trophy laden era in Catalonia included:

On the international stage, Busquets earned legendary status with the Spain national team, anchoring the midfield during their historic triumphs at the 2010 FIFA World Cup & UEFA Euro 2012.
Following his departure from Barcelona in 2023, the midfielder enjoyed a stint in Major League Soccer with Inter Miami before officially announcing his retirement from professional football last December.
