Today, Kaizer Chiefs prepare for a different kind of challenge as they face one of the most formidable teams on the African continent—Red Arrows FC—at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, as part of the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers.

Ahead of the encounter, Chiefs find themselves in a patch of frustrating form, having settled for a share of the spoils in each of their last three Betway Premiership outings. Their most recent stalemate came on Tuesday evening, when they played out a 1-1 draw with Stellenbosch.

Mfundo Vilakazi wants an important victory away at Red Arrows

Vilakazi believes that their previous experience of defeating fellow Zambian outfit ZESCO United last season could prove invaluable when they take the field on Saturday.

Speaking to the Chiefs official website, Vilakazi shared his thoughts on the team's preparation: "Training was good. It's very hot here but we'll manage. I think we are ready for tomorrow." He continued, drawing on past success: "Last time we played here we won so I think we must do the same again." He also acknowledged the quality of their opponents, noting: "We saw some of them in our video session. They are a good team and we won't underestimate them."

The player also reflected on gaining additional playing time with the national under-23 side during the international break. "I'm really happy about it but for now I am totally focused on my club and what we need to do," he added.

Their opponents, the Zambian side, advanced convincingly with a 4-0 aggregate victory over FC Rogue in the first preliminary round.

The match is set to kick off at 15h00 South African time at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
