Luca Zidane transforms after choosing Algeria: From criticism to "Octopus" form at Granada

Since officially changing his sporting nationality from French to Algerian goalkeeper Luca Zidane has undergone remarkable transformation from being questioned by fans to becoming octopus between the posts for Granada CF.

The 27 year old son of football legend Zinedine Zidane made his debut for Algeria in October’s World Cup qualifier against Uganda starting the match under coach Vladimir Petkovic and conceding just once in 2-1 victory for the Fennecs.

According to SofaScore Zidane has produced back to back clean sheets in the Spanish second division against Andorra & Cadiz with 100% save success & 100% success rate in aerial duels earning impressive 7.4/10 rating.

A mental shift after wearing green

Before joining Algeria, Zidane’s record with Granada was far less convincing: 13 goal conceded in 7 match.

So far this season, he has played 9 league games keeping 3 clean sheet and conceding 13 goal but the trend is now clearly upward.
