Magesi FC have suffered a setback ahead of their Betway Premiership clash against Kaizer Chiefs at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday (19h30).

The bottom-placed outfit heads into the game on the back of a narrow 1-0 defeat to Sekhukhune United in the Limpopo derby this past Saturday.

Magesi are two points behind the 14th spot which guarantees safety, having picked up 17 points in 23 league outings.

Notably, the Limpopo-based outfit has registered one win in their last 13 league outings, beating fellow relegation candidates Marumo Gallants 3-0 on 07 April.

Now, Allan Freese's men will have to do without the reliable services of Orlando Pirates loanee Siyabonga Ndlozi and Kgothatso Mariba againts Chiefs.

The duo will be serving their one-match suspensions after accumulating their fourth yellow cards of the season against Babina Noko.

Chiefs, meanwhile, have no suspension concerns for the tie as they look to complete a league double over Magesi, having won the first meeting 2-0 last month in Durban.

It remains to be seen whether Freese's side can secure a favorable result against the in-form Soweto giants, who are on a four-game winning streak in the league.
