Michel Der Zakarian, the manager of FC Nantes, has openly admitted that the club has lost touch with Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed, who has yet to show up for the team's summer buildup. The situation has left both the coach and the club's staff in the dark.

Speaking to reporters ahead of Saturday's friendly clash with FC Lorient—Nantes' second outing of the preseason—the veteran boss confessed that no one seems to know where the forward currently is.

"We have no clue about his location," Der Zakarian said. "We've been attempting to reach him, but often there's just silence on the other end. The club has been making the calls—I personally haven't dialed him—but more often than not, we get no reply."

Mohamed's no-show adds another layer of uncertainty to an already unsettled summer for Nantes. The club's drop into Ligue 2, after finishing second-bottom in the 2025/26 campaign, has cast doubt over the futures of several key players—and the Egyptian international's absence only deepens the mystery.
