Nikolas Nartey Nears Return with Stuttgart

The Ghanaian midfielder could return to full-team training as early as next week following his muscle injury. However, his potential availability for the match against Borussia Dortmund on September 19 remains uncertain.

Nikolas Nartey is edging closer to a return with VfB Stuttgart. The 26-year-old Ghanaian midfielder is continuing his recovery from a muscle injury and has already resumed a significant part of his individual training.

His coach, Sebastian Hoeneß, has expressed cautious optimism about his progress. “Niko Nartey is already doing quite a lot,” the coach explained, adding that he hopes the midfielder will be able to “return to the group at the beginning of next week.”

Nartey is therefore not expected to rejoin full-team training this week. Stuttgart prefers to manage his return gradually to avoid a setback and allow him to regain the rhythm and intensity required in training.

September 19 could nevertheless be an initial target. Stuttgart will face Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga on that date, although Nartey’s presence in the squad remains uncertain at this stage.

His return would give Sebastian Hoeneß another option in midfield. The club will, however, wait to assess how the Ghanaian responds to the resumption of full-team training before considering a return to competitive action.
