Tanzanian giants Young Africans have announced the high-profile signing of former Mamelodi Sundowns prolific striker Peter Shalulile.

The 32-year-old centre-forward joined on a free transfer as he was unattached after parting ways with the reigning African champions at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

His exit at Chloorkop marked the end of a six-year association with Masandawana, having joined the Tshwane giants from Highlands Park in September 2020.

He went on to make a total of 228 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with 107 goals and 27 assists in the process - a testament to his exploits in the final third.

Shalulile won five league titles, a solitary Nedbank Cup, MTN8, African Football League (AFL), and the coveted CAF Champions League during his spell at Sundowns.

Now, the Namibia international is set for a new chapter in East Africa with Yanga, who have won a record-extending five consecutive league titles.

The South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) all-time top goal scorer was lured to Tanzania with the sole purpose of helping the club mount a deep run on the continent.

Notably, Yanga have crashed out in the group stages of the CAF Champions League in the past two seasons, with the team looking to stamp their authority in the competition.

Shalulile, meanwhile, will reunite with former Sundowns boss Manqoba Mngqithi, who was appointed as the new head coach at the Jangwani street giants earlier this month.

Whether the pair can guide Yanga to greater heights in Africa's elite club competition and maintain domestic dominance next season remains to be seen.
