There is troubling news on the horizon for Paris Saint-Germain supporters. According to a report from FootMercato, midfielder Vitinha—who plays a key role for both PSG and the Portuguese national team—picked up an injury during yesterday's Ligue 1 clash against Lyon.

The 26-year-old has since been diagnosed with inflammation in his left heel. He is currently undergoing treatment, and a period of rehabilitation will follow before he can return to action.

As things stand, Vitinha’s availability for the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich on March 28 looks very much in doubt. PSG manager Luis Enrique may now need to start thinking about possible replacements for the Portuguese playmaker.

Vitinha was forced to leave the pitch early in yesterday's match, exiting in the 39th minute after struggling with significant discomfort that prevented him from finishing the first half.

So far this season, the midfielder has made 45 appearances for the club, finding the net seven times and providing ten assists.
