Real Madrid - Benfica: the Mourinho deal finalized

José Mourinho’s return to Real Madrid appears to be taking a significant step forward after a major breakthrough among all parties involved.

Mourinho’s comeback to Real Madrid now seems closer than ever. According to A Bola, the Portuguese manager has already reached an agreement with Los Blancos despite his current contract still officially binding him to Benfica.

Negotiations between Real Madrid, Benfica, and José Mourinho are reportedly progressing in an especially calm atmosphere. However, the Portuguese club is said to be demanding around €15 million in compensation to release the Special One from his final year of contract. Florentino Pérez has reportedly agreed to make a financial effort to speed up the deal.

Furthermore, according to the Portuguese press, Benfica has already secured guarantees regarding Marco Silva’s arrival to replace Mourinho. As for Mourinho himself, he is now waiting for the official announcement, which seems to be only a matter of time.
