Real Madrid: Enrique Riquelme approved (official)

Enrique Riquelme will indeed be a candidate in the Real Madrid presidential elections.

A few days ago, the main figure himself had already made the announcement public. However, there was still one final hurdle to clear. The Real Madrid assembly needed to give the green light to his candidacy, ensuring that he fulfilled all the mandatory criteria, including a bank guarantee of around €180 million.

Now, it’s official. Riquelme’s candidacy has been approved, as announced by the club in an official statement. The only question that remains is when the elections will take place. The Madrid press reports that there is a strong possibility they will be held on Sunday, June 7.
