Real Madrid: Raúl Asencio looks back on his difficult period
Over the past few hours, Raúl Asencio took advantage of an interview with Spanish newspaper AS to look back on a particularly difficult period in his young career.
The Real Madrid defender acknowledged that he had to grow up quickly. This came in particular after several off-field incidents and a recent operation on his tibia. Now more mature, the player developed by the Madrid club accepts his youthful mistakes and seems to have become aware of certain responsibilities linked to his status as a professional footballer. It was therefore a difficult period that reportedly allowed him to take a step back, while gaining a greater appreciation of the privilege of wearing the Real Madrid shirt.
Asked about the legal case in which he had been involved with former teammates, Asencio was keen to defend his position. “I haven’t killed anyone, I haven’t done anything. But beyond that, it was a legal proceeding. I had a clear conscience, and that’s the most important thing,” he explained.

Raúl Asencio says he has always approached this period calmly, convinced that he did nothing wrong in the case. The Spaniard now wants to leave these turbulent recent months behind him and devote himself fully to his career in Madrid.
