Senegal has secured its ticket to the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) thanks to a narrow 1-0 victory over Mali on Friday.

Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye netted the game’s only goal in the 27th minute, capitalizing on a huge blunder from Malian goalkeeper Djigui Diarra.

In the semi-finals, the Lions will face the winner of Saturday’s clash between Ivory Coast and Egypt.

The other semi-final will pit the winner of Morocco vs. Cameroon against whoever comes out on top between Algeria and Nigeria.

Senegal is aiming for a second Africa Cup of Nations title at AFCON 2025, after their triumph over Egypt in 2021.
