Senegal: Iliman Ndiaye ruled out against Peru and Gambia

Senegal will have to make do without Iliman Ndiaye during the upcoming international break. The Lions of Teranga striker has been ruled out of the friendlies against Peru and Gambia, scheduled for March 28 and 31.

Iliman Ndiaye will miss the friendly matches. After sustaining a left foot injury with his club Everton FC, Ndiaye is experiencing discomfort that prevents him from joining the national squad. The Senegalese Football Federation has made his withdrawal official, clarifying that the injury occurred during club play.

This absence comes at a crucial time for the Lions, who are currently in a key preparation phase ahead of major upcoming international competitions, including the World Cup.

Another blow for Pape Thiaw

Head coach Pape Thiaw must now contend with yet another setback in attack. Following the absence of Sadio Mané, who remains with his club Al-Nassr FC, another key figure in Senegal's attack is now missing from the lineup.

These two friendlies against Peru and Gambia were meant to give the technical staff a chance to fine-tune their tactics and try out different options. Ndiaye's absence slightly complicates those plans, though it does open the door for new experiments.
