The Franco-Senegalese prodigy Mamadou Sarr has yet to make a definitive choice regarding his future international allegiance.

Born in France to Senegalese parents, the 19-year-old defender is eligible to don the jersey of both “Les Bleus” and the “Lions.”

In a statement to the Senegalese press, his father, Pape Sarr, expressed strong openness to the idea of seeing his son represent Senegal. According to him, Mamadou will make a decision about his international career in the coming months.
What should you know about Mamadou Sarr?
Developed at RC Lens and Olympique Lyonnais, Sarr had a brief loan spell in Belgium with RWD Molenbeek before joining RC Strasbourg in 2024 for a €10 million transfer fee.
He was recently signed by Chelsea for €14 million. On Monday, he watched from the bench as the Blues secured a 2-0 victory over Los Angeles at the 2025 Club World Cup.
