Serie A: Modrić extends his contract with AC Milan for one more season

AC Milan has officially announced the contract extension of their Croatian star, Luka Modrić, for an additional season, keeping him at the club until June 2027. The news broke this Thursday from the Lombardy club, who finished fifth in Serie A last season.

In a statement accompanied by a photo of the Croatian midfielder, the Rossoneri declared: "The future still bears his name. Luka's adventure with the Rossoneri continues."

Just days before his 41st birthday, Modrić is set to continue his journey with the Milanese side. Having joined AC Milan in the summer of 2025 as a free agent after his storied spell at Real Madrid, the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner continues to bring his vast experience to the Rossoneri.

Prior to the 2026 World Cup, the Croatian national team captain had hinted at possible retirement.

However, he ultimately reversed that decision, choosing instead to extend his career with AC Milan, drawn by the vision of new head coach Rúben Amorim and the club's leadership.

Last season, Luka Modrić featured in 37 matches across all competitions for Milan, recording two goals and three assists.
