UFOA A U20: defending champions Senegal take the field

Group B of the UFOA A tournament qualifying for the 2027 Ghana U20 Africa Cup of Nations gets underway this Friday. Defending champions Senegal face Mauritania at the Mamadou Konaté Stadium in Bamako.

A high-pressure Group B

Reduced to three teams after Guinea-Bissau withdrew, Group B now consists only of Senegal, Mauritania and Sierra Leone. The format has become tricky. Each team plays just two group matches. A victory could almost secure its author’s place in the semi-finals, while a defeat could prove fatal.

Senegal put their title on the line

Winners of the 2024 edition, Senegal are putting their trophy on the line. The Young Lions arrived in Bamako ready. At the beginning of the month, they prepared with two 2-1 and 2-0 victories over the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the reigning champions of the UNIFFAC zone.

Where to watch the match?

The Senegal vs Mauritania match is scheduled for 16:00 GMT at the Mamadou Konaté Stadium. It will be broadcast live for free on the WAFU A TV YouTube channel.
