CAF has announced the officiating team for matchday 2 of the Women's AFCON clash between Senegal and Kenya. Nigerian referee Eunice Akintoye will take charge as the central referee.

A trio from West and Central Africa

Akintoye will be assisted by Benin's Nafissatou Yekini Shitou and Chad's Ngarassoum Victorine. Namibia's Antsino Twanyanyukwa will serve as fourth official, with Mali's Fanta Idrissa Kone as reserve assistant. In the VAR room, CAF has appointed Letticia Antonella Viana from Eswatini, supported by Zambian official Lumbizai Musawa.

Both teams have no room for error. Senegal suffered a 2-0 defeat to Algeria in their opening match. Kenya, meanwhile, endured a heavy 4-0 loss against hosts Morocco. Another defeat would almost certainly eliminate either side. On the other hand, a win would throw the race for a quarterfinal spot wide open again.

Confidence on display despite mounting pressure

At the pre-match press conference, both head coaches sent out a positive message. They expressed their belief in their squads and confidence in an immediate response. The winner stays alive. The loser bids farewell to the 2026 Women's AFCON.
