Women's U-17 World Cup qualifiers: Cameroon crushes Algeria

The Cameroonian national team kicked off their campaign in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco. On Saturday in Blida, the Cameroon U-17 Lionesses delivered a crushing defeat to their Algerian counterparts with a 5-1 scoreline.

The clash quickly turned into a display of sheer dominance. Andrea Mimbama and Reine Nkinhoung each netted a brace, while Merfael Bekie added another goal to Cameroon’s tally.

With this result, Cameroon has taken a commanding step towards qualification, especially with the second leg set to be played on home soil. The return fixture is scheduled for April 18 at the Omnisports Stadium in Yaoundé.
