Group D of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations features Ghana, Cameroon, Mali, and Cape Verde.

The teams in Group D

Ghana is making its 12th AWCON appearance. The Black Queens have never lifted the trophy, having fallen short in three finals—1998, 2002, and 2006. They secured a podium finish, taking third place in their most recent outing in 2024.

Cameroon, ranked 13th, has reached the final three times—in 2004, 2014, and 2016. After a quarter-final exit in 2022, the Indomitable Lionesses missed the 2024 edition. Defeated by Algeria in the qualifiers, they were later brought back as one of the top four nations in the FIFA ranking.

Mali enters its ninth tournament. Their best result remains a fourth-place finish in 2018. They reached the quarter-finals in 2024, but were knocked out by Cape Verde in the second preliminary round before being reinstated.

Cape Verde is set to make its debut in the competition, just as their men's senior team did at the 2026 World Cup.
