On Wednesday, Portugal failed to impress in their opening 2026 World Cup match against DR Congo (1-1). The Cristiano Ronaldo camp did not hold back in criticizing the Portuguese squad.

Yesterday, Cristiano Ronaldo was unable to make a difference for his team against DR Congo. The former Real Madrid star stayed on the pitch for the full 90 minutes. His sisters were outspoken on social media, as reported by Record.

Elma Aveiro wrote that Portugal had been robbed: "I believe that beginnings are difficult, but endings are good. You [the players] are the ones on the pitch. It's easy to talk. And on top of that, having victory stolen from you like this, it's not easy."

Kátia Aveiro, meanwhile, took aim at certain national team players: "As if by magic, they forgot how to pass the ball, win it back, or launch counterattacks. The game went from midfield backwards. Strange, this World Cup. Strange. But let's go. Rough starts, beautiful finishes. All the way to the end."
