Algeria - Bolivia: Les Verts lead at halftime

Without truly shining, Algeria took the lead against Bolivia after a controlled first half. In a match more focused on tactical adjustments than on spectacle, Les Verts made the difference thanks to Aïssa Mandi.

Algeria headed to the locker room with a deserved advantage over Bolivia (1-0) at the end of a largely controlled opening half. Without being dazzling, Vladimir Petkovic's men displayed more composure than their opponents in a match played at a relatively moderate pace.

Indeed, the Bolivians mostly stood out for a scrappy style of play and several rough challenges, particularly targeting Ibrahim Maza, who was frequently singled out. For their part, Les Verts tried to build their attacks, despite some technical shortcomings in the final third, highlighted by several poorly executed moves from Mohamed Amoura.

However, the Algerian striker redeemed himself by providing an assist to Aïssa Mandi, who scored the only goal (45th minute) of this first half. More than a true competitive fixture, this encounter currently feels like a dress rehearsal, focused on tactical positioning and shaking off rust ahead of the World Cup.
