Cameroon U23: Preliminary 30-man squad announced for training camp in Spain

The Cameroon Olympic team is gearing up for action during this month’s FIFA international window. On Saturday, coach Guy Feutchine unveiled a preliminary 30-man roster for a training camp to be held in Spain.

This squad announcement has sparked controversy in Cameroon. The reason? Not a single player from the domestic league made the cut, even with the list expanded to 30 names. Coach Guy Feutchine opted exclusively for players based abroad, with the overwhelming majority plying their trade in Europe.

However, the list is not yet final. Local media suggest that a few home-based players could still make the final, trimmed-down squad.

The Cameroon U23 Lions will hold their training camp in the Spanish city of Alavés from March 23 to 31, 2026. This gathering is part of their preparations for the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Friendly matches are on the agenda, but the Cameroon Football Federation has yet to reveal the names of their opponents.
