CAN 2025 - Morocco: Brahim Diaz’s heartfelt message to Ounahi
Azzedine Ounahi is ruled out for the remainder of CAN 2025. Brahim Diaz left him a touching message.
On Sunday night, Morocco secured their ticket to the quarter-finals of CAN 2025. The Atlas Lions edged past Tanzania (1-0) in the Round of 16, with a decisive goal from Brahim Diaz clinching the victory. During the match, the team had to cope without Azzedine Ounahi.
The Moroccan midfielder arrived at the stadium on crutches after picking up an injury the day before. Now, he is officially ruled out for the rest of the tournament, with an estimated recovery time of around six weeks. After the match, Brahim Diaz took the opportunity to pay tribute to his teammate. "This goal, I dedicate it to Azzedine Ounahi. He’s an incredible player. I also dedicate it to my mother, as it’s her birthday. We’re going to miss Ounahi and I hope he recovers quickly to join us at the end of the tournament," said the Real Madrid midfielder.
