CHAN 2024: Who are the 7 winning coaches of the tournament?

African football will be in the spotlight this August with the 8th edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The battle for the crown promises to be fierce among several competitive teams such as Morocco, DR Congo, Algeria, Senegal, and Tanzania.

In the past, seven coaches have lifted the trophy, with just one European—Spaniard Javier Clemente with Libya in 2014—among them.

Below is the list of CHAN-winning coaches:

2009: Jean-Santos Muntubile (DR Congo)

2011: Sami Trabelsi (Tunisia)

2014: Javier Clemente (Libya)

2016: Florent Ibenge (DR Congo)

2018: Jamal Sellami (Morocco)

2020: Houcine Ammouta (Morocco)

2022: Pape Thiaw (Senegal)

  • Group A: Kenya, Morocco, Angola, DR Congo, Zambia.
  • Group B: Tanzania, Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic.
  • Group C: Uganda, Niger, Guinea, Algeria, South Africa.
  • Group D: Senegal, Congo, Sudan, Nigeria.
