Tolu Arokodare scored twice in his first start for Ajax. The Nigerian striker played a key role in the 5-3 victory over FC Sion as the Dutch club secured qualification.
Tolu Arokodare did not take long to make his mark in his new colours. Making his first start for Ajax in the Conference League qualifying round, the Nigerian striker scored twice against FC Sion. He first found the back of the net in the 45th minute, just before half-time, before striking again in the 51st minute to put his team back in front.
After a particularly entertaining encounter, Ajax secured a 5-3 victory and completed their qualification with a 9-5 aggregate score over the two legs. Arokodare immediately made his presence felt in an important match for the club, showcasing his finishing ability inside the opposition penalty area.
A promising start
Having arrived in Amsterdam with the aim of strengthening Ajax's attacking options, Arokodare has already sent out a strong signal. In his first start, the Nigerian international not only found the net twice but also demonstrated his ability to make a difference at crucial moments.
His brace could quickly strengthen his position in Ajax's plans, with the club counting on him to provide greater physical presence and attacking power. This first European performance was certainly an ideal introduction.
