The Democratic Republic of Congo U16 national team suffered a 0-2 defeat against Belarus on April 18, 2026, in their debut at the UEFA U16 Development Tournament.
The competition is being held from April 18 to 23 in the Serbian capital, Belgrade. The young Leopards U16s lost their opening game 0-2 to Belarus.

The young Leopards still have two games to bounce back, as they are set to face hosts Serbia and Switzerland.
The Congo Football Federation (FECOFA) stated: "Beyond the results, this participation fits perfectly within the vision of the national technical management, which places the U16 category at the heart of its strategy for developing Congolese football by focusing on training, gaining international experience, and the long-term progress of our talents."
