Coventry City have officially sealed their return to the Premier League, and Frank Lampard could not hide his emotion after this historic achievement.

Appointed in November 2024, the former Chelsea FC player guided his team to promotion after a 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers, a result that was enough to secure their place in the top flight. Speaking to Sky Sports, Lampard highlighted his squad’s mental toughness:

The players’ resilience after last season’s play-off heartbreak has been incredible. We talked a lot over the summer about what needed to improve, and the boys have really stepped up.

Clearly moved, the English manager also emphasized the personal dimension of this achievement:

The players managed to go all the way. It’s an incredible feeling. We’ve fallen in love with this project.

In a heartfelt admission, Lampard even compared this promotion to his greatest moments as a player:

This is absolutely on par with anything I achieved as a footballer. I’m very proud to be a coach.

A return to the Premier League marks a turning point for Coventry and underlines Lampard’s development on the touchline.
