The seventh round of fixtures in the 2026/27 La Liga campaign kicks off this weekend, marking the last set of matches before clubs pause for a three-week international break.

As things stand heading into the matchday, reigning champions FC Barcelona stand alone as the only side in the league with a perfect record, having taken the maximum 18 points from their first six outings.

Barcelona will face Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán in a crucial match for both teams, following Barcelona's emphatic 7–2 victory over Racing Santander in their last La Liga game.

Barcelona have looked close to flawless through the opening stretch of the campaign, with their attacking play in particular standing out — finding the net with ease while largely dictating the flow of their matches.

That said, a trip to Sevilla's home ground has historically proven tricky, something Barcelona experienced firsthand last season. Back in October, the Blaugrana left the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline against the Andalusian side.

This time around, Luis Garcia Plaza's men have proven a tough nut to crack on their own patch, claiming victory in two of their three home fixtures — overcoming Rayo Vallecano and Valencia — with the remaining match ending in a 1-3 loss to Atletico Madrid.

There aren't many changes in Flick's work

Flick has largely resisted tinkering with his lineup this season, keeping alterations to the starting XI to a bare minimum.

Yet with the Catalans facing their third fixture inside a seven-day stretch, a degree of freshening up would seem the logical course of action for the German coach.

That argument grows stronger still when you factor in the upcoming international commitments, which will see several players jet off for national team duty — a schedule involving travel and three to four matches packed closely together.
