Liberia: U-20 national team crushed 0-9 by Chelsea U-21

The Liberia U-20 national team is currently touring the United Kingdom as part of a program aimed at developing youth football. In their first friendly match on April 17, they suffered a heavy defeat against Chelsea FC U-21, losing 0-9.

The Chelsea U-21 side dominated proceedings from start to finish. For Liberia's young talents, who are part of FIFA's Talent Development Scheme (TDS) and the national U-20 squad, this clash was a valuable opportunity to test themselves against some of the world’s best youth teams.

The Liberia Football Association notes that these fixtures are intended to increase exposure and enhance the technical abilities of Liberian talents.

During their stay in the United Kingdom, the squad will play several matches against various youth teams and academies. The long-term goal is to put the "Lone Stars" among Africa’s elite.
