Mohamed Salah Fuels Rivalry with Haaland Ahead of Liverpool vs Manchester City Clash
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has sparked controversy ahead of his team's Premier League clash with Manchester City on Sunday with a provocative statement about Erling Haaland scoring goals.
The Golden Boot battle between Salah and Haaland
There's no doubt that the egyptian pharaoh currently tops the EPL scorers list with 24 goal making his tally 5 goal ahead of the Norwegian Haaland who scored 19 goal. In addition Salah provided 15 assist, making him the most productive striker in Europe’s top 5 league this season.
Speaking to "Sky Germany" he said: “We spoke once after the last game, I respect him a lot, his life is easier because he's striker, as a winger it's much more difficult to get these numbers.”
Due to knee injury, Haaland missed Manchester City's Champions League exit to Real Madrid, which makes his availability for Sunday's match uncertain.
Salah also commented on his egyptian teammate Omar Marmoush, who joined Man City in Jan for 59 milion euro, saying: “He's like a little brother. We've spoken many times and I told him I'm always here if he needs anything.”
Liverpool travel to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday looking to boost their title chances, while City aim to close the gap at the top.
