Oukidja ruled out: a new goalkeeper joins the Algerian squad!
Algeria's head coach, Vladimir Petković, has called up local team and ES Sétif goalkeeper, Tarek Bousder, for the September training camp as the Greens prepare for their upcoming matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Bousder joins the Greens after Oukidja's injury!
The management of ES Sétif announced this Sunday, via the club's official page, that Bousder, currently with the local squad taking part in the African Nations Championship (CHAN), has received the official call-up from Petković for the match against Botswana, scheduled for September 4 at the "Hocine Aït Ahmed" stadium in Tizi Ouzou.
Although Bousder is not a regular starter under Madjid Bouguerra, Petković has decided to bring him into the main group due to the injury of first-choice keeper Alexandre Oukidja, who will also miss the Africa Cup of Nations set for December.
The "Desert Fennecs" are gearing up for two crucial qualifiers: they will host Botswana on September 4 before traveling to Casablanca, Morocco, to face Guinea on September 8.
