Ounahi ready to write a new chapter in La Liga!

All signs point to Azzedine Ounahi's departure from Olympique de Marseille being imminent. The Moroccan star, who burst onto the scene during the Qatar 2022 World Cup, has decided to open a new chapter in his career, this time with Spanish side Girona.

Ounahi's future takes shape at Girona

According to French media sources, the 25-year-old midfielder has given his final approval to Girona's offer, attracted by the club's sporting project—especially the prospect of playing in the Champions League.

For their part, Girona submitted an official bid of 8 million euros, matching the price originally set by Marseille, who had initially raised their demand to 12 million before returning to the initial amount.

Trained at the Mohammed VI Academy, Ounahi made a name for himself in Ligue 1 with Angers. His reputation skyrocketed during the 2022 World Cup, where he played a pivotal role in Morocco's historic run to the semi-finals.

After his exploits in Qatar, Ounahi joined Marseille in January 2023. However, injuries and instability within the club hampered his performance. Loaned last season to Panathinaikos in Greece, he rediscovered his best form, scoring 5 goals and providing 7 assists. He was named the club's player of the season and earned a spot in the Greek league's Team of the Year.
